Personal interests

I relax by reading a book - generally either science fiction or fantasy, with occasional forays into other genres of fiction, as well as biographies and science books - or watching TV. I have been known to go rock climbing, play basketball, cycle and jog. I have also studied Aikido, a martial art.

I am interested in photography, and own several digital SLR cameras (Canon EOS 400d and 10d), which I have also used to do astrophotography, sometimes in conjunction with my optical telescope (SkyWatcher 130 PM).

I am an administrator on the English Wikipedia, to which I have made over 10,000 edits under the username Mike Peel. I am currently involved in the creation of Wikimedia UK, a new charity to support the Wikimedia Foundation's activities in the UK, as well as support free content creation in general.

Miscellaneous

I have a full, clean driving license. I'm also a member of the Institute of Advanced Motoring.
