Hello!

Hello and welcome to my website! My name’s Mike Peel – or if you want the acronym-filled version, it’s Dr Michael Peel MPhys FRAS AMInstP.

I am currently a FAPESP Young Investigator fellow at the Instituto de FĂ­sica, Universidade de Sao Paulo, Brazil. I was formerly an Science & Technology Funding Council-funded postdoctoral researcher at the Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics, which is part of the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Manchester.

I studied for a Masters in Physics and Astronomy at the University of Manchester in 2002-06 (see my notes from the lectures), followed by a PhD in Astronomy and Astrophysics at Jodrell Bank in 2006-10.

I am a fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society, as well as a member of the Institute of Physics, the Institute of Advanced Motorists, the National Trust and English Heritage.
